Living in the city offers many advantages, but the one that can save you the most time, money, and hassle is the ability to live without a car. The Oak Lawn area of Dallas is full of alternative transportation options that can get you where you need to be quickly (and cheap!).
We’ve put together a list of the best ways to get around Dallas without owning your own car.
Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) provides bus routes all across the Dallas area. They’re cheap, convenient, and go almost everywhere. They even extend into many of the surrounding communities, offering an easy way to visit your slower paced suburban friends. Stops are just blocks from us here on Kings Rd.
DART also offers the light rail line, which provides incredibly quick and easy transportation all across the metroplex. When used in conjunction with the bus system, there’s nowhere you can’t go on DART. The Green and Orange light rail lines have stations just blocks from Oak Lawn, at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.
Zipcar allows members to reserve cars for anywhere from an hour to a week. This can be a flexible alternative for anyone who only needs a car on occasion. With gas and insurance included, it’s hard to beat Zipcar for cheap and reliable occasional transportation needs. They have stations across Dallas, including Oak Lawn and Uptown.
Uber or Lyft
There’s an app for that! Uber or Lyft are great alternatives for a night out, or when the above options just won’t do. Cheaper and more convenient than taxis, these services take you where you want to go, when you want to go there.
Get out and meet your neighbors! 27TwentySeven Apartments is conveniently located right down the street from restaurants, shopping, and entertainment venues. There is also a supermarket and pharmacy within blocks of the building. Almost all of your needs can be met with a healthy, social amble down the street.
Whatever you decide, 27TwentySeven Apartments central location provides access to cheap, easy, and reliable transportation without the need to own a car.
